BOOKSHELF DECOR 

SO, socking.. I moved again! This will be my 3rd move in 2 years..needless to say, my favorite part about moving is re-decorating my space!
Today I wanted to share my bookcase decor & how I style my shelving units.

1 thing I find helps me a lot is picking a colour scheme and sticking to it.

To go along with a colour scheme I like to keep in mind what kind of style I want to go with,
I find my style is more modern/contemporary.

The colours I  decided to stick with silver, black, white, grey & touches of blue/turquoise.

The second thing I do is SHOP! I love shopping at Pier 1, Homesense, Walmart, Michaels & my secret spot...The Thrift Store!!
I find little nick-nacks that I love without breaking the bank. Trust me, this part takes forever... I am such a penny pincher & when it comes to spending money, I HAVE to LOVE it! The thrift store is great for finding items without breaking the bank.

Now comes the fun part! Decorating!

If you notice in the pictures above, you'll see I tend to bunch items in 3. I found this trick works really well for the style I'm going for. I don't like shelving being too cluttered.
 I will usually put larger items at the bottom on the shelf.
I like to keep the clusters of 3 diagonally from each other to give them nice spacing.

& finally, the most important rule, HAVE FUN with it! I move things around a million times until I like the way it looks. It's your house, decorate for you!

GUEST BATHROOM DECOR 

Guest bathrooms/powder rooms.. wow where do I even begin...hmm SMALL, SMALL & SMALL.
I found this room dificult to figure out what to do. To be completley honest, I still dont even really know if I like it!

It was so tough to figure out what I wanted to put in here without making it cluttery. I stumbled upon these street signs at Walmart & loved them! Originally I didnt want to put them in the bathroom. BUT, my boyfiend loved them here so.. I put them there.

 I actually find these are great here since it doesnt take up much space. They make a stetment on there own. I kept the rest of the bathroom very simple with a black towel & silver bathroom accesories (garbage can, toilet paper holder etc).
I find when decorating a small space, its better so go with the saying "less is more"

If you are looking for some cute decor, dont forget to check out Walmart. I find so many cute items there.
